School Gardens: How to Start and Use Gardens for Teaching Curriculum

Join the Cabarrus Farm and Food Council for their March meeting about School Gardens with Doug Vernon, Extension Outreach Specialist at NC State University. The meeting is Thursday, March 14 from 6 to 8 pm at High Branch Brewing Company, 325 McGill Ave., Concord. Those who feel inclined are invited to bring a snack to share.

The new format for theĀ Cabarrus County Farm & Food general meetings continues in June with an exciting program open to everyone in the community interested in local food and farming. Two local speakers will share: Thom Duncan, Program Director of Friendship Trays and Farm Manager of the Urban Farm at Garringer High School, and Jean Siers, Coordinator for Society of St. Andrew Gleening Network in the 17-county Charlotte area. When: June 9th from 6 to 8 p.m. Where: Cabarrus Country Governmental Center. Cost: Free!
