New Program, Grow Local Give Back

The Elma C. Lomax Incubator Farm and Carolina Farm Stewardship have joined forces to raise $11,000 to grow 11,000 pounds of food. The new program entitled Grow Local, Give Back uses sweet potato and onion plants donated from New Sprout Organic Farms and Walker Organic Farms to teach farmers-in-training to grow crops. Then the vegetables they grow are donated to local food pantries in Cabarrus County. Donations of as little as $1 are accepted; a $25 donation includes membership to Carolina Farm Stewardship.
